Temps Perdu (Lost Time) responded to the work of Hessie (also known as Carmen Lydia Duric) (1936-2017), a French-Caribbean textile artist who created delicate embroideries featuring abstract forms, often using simple, everyday materials. It drew its name from a 1972 artwork by Hessie – a sheet of paper with perforations spelling out the words Temps Perdu.

The exhibition took place in two parts: Part l comprised a solo exhibition of Hessie's work, and Part ll was a tribute to Hessie by Jessye and artist Olga Theuriet. Jessye developed a new series of embroideries which were exhibited together with Hessie's perforated paper work and a large-scale textile piece by Olga. The exhibition was curated by Arnaud Lefebvre.

More detailed information about the exhibition concept can be read via the gallery’s press release.

An in-conversation session took place between the artists and Arnaud Lefebvre during Paris Gallery Weekend, 23-25 May 2025. The recording can be accessed here.

The exhibition was on display from 24 April-31 May 2025.
